Fragrance Friday: There’s something to be said for winter whites
April 29, 2016
Winter-whites-anything always has a special appeal to me personally. Whether seen in clothing, accessories and in this case fragrances – I’m always completely enchanted. There’s something to be said for the crisp, cool and fresh look of anything white, especially in winter. You’d expect the mens fragrances I’m featuring today to be fresh remnants of summer days gone by but make not mistake – they’re masculine scents with warmth, perfect for the cooler temperatures we’re soon to experience.
I think my ultimate favorite is the MONT BLANC LEGEND SPIRIT. Represented in the now already known solid heavy glass flacon, this time in pure winter white, the silver top just emphasizes this silvery scent’s charm. The juice encourages a man to follow his spirit with this timeless and elegant rendition in the super popular Mont Blanc line-up. Falling into a aromatic-woody category the journey embarks in fresh notes of pink pepper, grapefruit and bergamot, giving it that expected fresh feel. The heart of lavender and water notes are warmed up slightly with spicy cardamom and trail through to base notes of white musk, white woods, cashmere and oakmoss, giving it it’s aromatic woody appeal. I can’t help but absolutely love this beautiful fragrance, definitely one of my favorite in the latest men’s fragrances launching. Available from 15 May only.
Another new men’s launch I found important to mention is the latest addition to it’s range, the JACQUES BOGART SILVER SCENT PURE. Also in an iconic pillar bottle as it’s predecessors but this time of solid white, this line extension is still aromatic but with a fresher citrus twist. Top notes of bergamot, mint, granny smith apple and grapefruit start this scent off on a beautifully lighthearted note that warms up in the heart with nutmeg, cardamom, lavender and orange blossom. Base notes of guaiac wood, teak wood, musk and patchouli leaf give it a brilliant woodsy flavor of warmth that settles into a stunning dry down.
Keep a look out for these two new fragrances when they launch soon, they are definitely worth checking out if you’re one of those that like changing your summer and winter scents as the seasons progress.
